eBay now requires a UPC code to list a car as new yet they provide no software method to input a UPC code when listing the car for auction, thus it is listed as used in order to circumvent the UPC problem and get it to auction. This car is NOT used. It is NEW, in pristine condition. New, never run on track, Scalextric Sport C2509AT, GT40 MkII #3 as raced at Le Mans in 1966, driven by Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant. This is #750 of a Limited Edition of 8000 cars released by Scalextric in 2003. I purchased this car soon after its release and it has been part of my collection since then. Gurney qualified the car on pole with a time of 3’:30.6” which was 1.1 seconds faster than the Ken Miles / Denny Hulme car in second position. The Gurney/Grant and Miles/Hulme cars fought for the lead for much of the race until, after approximately 18 hours of racing and while in the lead, the Gurney car experienced a punctured radiator that led to overheating and a blown head gasket, ending their race. The Miles/Hulme car would go on to the famous 1,2,3 Ford GT40 finish.
