After the retirement of the Porsche car number 5 of Jacky Ickx, who joins then Barth-Wollek team on Porsche 936 n°6, The A443 number 1 even takes the lead of the race between the 7th and the 18th hour. Shortly before 10 am when engine has blocked, the team gives up while it was decided to reduce engine power to spare the car. 12 years after the first version, the new up-graded version of Alpine A443 appears with ABS injected chassis, aluminum rims and figurine.
